Oxbow Animal Health has announced the recipients of its 2018 Oxbow Animal Health Rescue Grants.  The seven recipient organizations will receive funding and donations totaling nearly $25,000 for a variety of projects and programs that benefit the welfare of small animals throughout the United States and Canada. Grant winners are chosen for excellence in the areas of educational outreach, public awareness, and project impact.

The 2018 Oxbow Rescue Grant Recipients are:

  • VCAS Bunny Brigade – Camarillo, CA
  • Los Angeles Rabbit Foundation – Playa del Rey, CA
  • East Coast Rabbit Rescue – West Palm Beach, FL
  • Texas Rustlers Guinea Pig Rescue – Lewisville, TX
  • Southeastern Pennsylvania Delaware HRS – Newport, DE
  • Rabbitats Rescue Society – Richmond, British Columbia
  • Heritage Humane Society – Williamsburg, VA

“On behalf of the entire Oxbow family, it is my honor to congratulate the 2018 Oxbow Rescue Grant recipients,” said John Miller, President and Founder of Oxbow Animal Health.  “Small animal rescue organizations and wildlife rehabilitators are the guardian angels of animals in need – giving endlessly, even when resources are scarce.  Oxbow is humbled to support the work of these amazing organizations, and we’re delighted to know that this year’s grants will support so many animals in need.”

‘We at East Coast Rabbit Rescue are very excited to have received a generous gift of rabbit products from the wonderful folks at Oxbow,” said organization representative, Monica Mitchell.  “We use Oxbow products exclusively because, through trail and error, we have found their products to be the best on the market. We will use their gift to care for our rabbits up for adoption and we will continue sending all our proud new bunny parents home with an initial supply of Oxbow rabbit products. We believe in starting off them off right. Thanks again to Oxbow!”

“The Rabbitats bunnies can’t thank Oxbow enough, and we agree!” said Rabbitats founder, Sorelle Saidman.  “The grant couldn’t have come at a better time. It will directly save the lives of hundreds of abandoned pet rabbits in our area by allowing us to build them a sanctuary, and hopefully save thousands more as we work on a map and rescue template for abandoned bunnies everywhere.  These wonderful pets deserve better, and it’s so heartwarming that Oxbow really cares.”

“We at Los Angeles Rabbit Foundation are thrilled to receive a 2018 Oxbow Rescue Grant,” said Michelle Kelly, the organization’s president and founder.  “More Oxbow pellets and hay equals more happy and healthy shelter and foster bunnies. We can’t wait to announce the grant at our annual Gala. Binkies all ‘round!”
