Murdock, NE, September 13, 2017– Oxbow Animal Health has announced the winners of its “Sharing Our Garden” rescue donation campaign. A portion of all sales of Garden Select foods made in July and August were donated to support rescues in need. The five winning groups will each receive $1,000 to support their organization’s needs. Winning organizations were chosen via public voting on the “Sharing Our Garden” campaign page. In addition, Oxbow has announced an additional $1,000 award to the Houston SPCA to support area animals in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
The winning organizations of the Sharing Our Garden contest are:
• House Rabbit Society Singapore – Singapore
• New Hanover County Rabbit Rescue of Wilmington – Wilmington, NC
• Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue – Los Angeles, CA
• Red Door Animal Shelter – Chicago, IL
• House Rabbit Network – Woburn, MA
• Houston SPCA*- Houston, TX
“We are honored to recognize and support the winners of our Sharing Our Garden campaign,” said Melissa Ross, Oxbow’s Vice President of Marketing. “From Oxbow’s very beginning, we have been a proud partner and supporter of rescue organizations, and we feel called to support their advocacy on behalf of animals in need. Our hearts go out to all of the people and pets affected by Hurricane Harvey, and we know that the rebuilding process will be a long and challenging one. However, we take heart in knowing the passion and resilience of those involved. In addition to the donation to the Houston SPCA, we are actively working on additional avenues of support to assist Houston area animals and caretakers in this time of great need.”
“House Rabbit Society Singapore is thrilled to be one of the recipients of this wonderful donation campaign,” said Betty Tan, representative for HRSS. “We are from a small country, but one with lots of amazing bunny parents & lovers. We will be using the prize money to purchase Oxbow food for the more than one hundred fostered rabbits under our care.”
“New Hanover County Rabbit Rescue would like to thank Oxbow for having the Sharing Our Garden contest and making this grant obtainable,” said Jennie Hoyt, the group’s founder and president. “The news that we were named one of the winners could not have come at a better time as we are trying to transition our rabbits away from small animal cages into professional grade veterinary cages. One hundred percent of the winnings from this contest will go towards purchasing one unit which equals 4 stainless steel veterinary cages for our shelter. Thank you again to Oxbow and our supporters for making this dream obtainable and getting one step closer to completing this project.”
“The House Rabbit Network is both honored and excited to receive the Sharing Our Garden giveback funds from Oxbow Animal Health,” said Suzanne Trayhan, founder and president of HRN. “It will be used to provide veterinary care for our rabbits. Oxbow Animal Health has always been a good friend to smaller animal rescues like ours.”
