Murdock, NE, September 22, 2014 -- Oxbow Animal Health has announced the hiring of Jaren Rief as Hay Specialist. In his position, Rief will work to monitor and maintain product-related specifications and quality procedures to ensure Oxbow’s hay and hay-based products meet or exceed quality standards. He will lead quality education efforts among vendors and employees and will work companywide to develop and maintain accurate and efficient systems and protocols.
Rief comes to Oxbow with a strong agricultural and animal health background. He received his Bachelor of Animal Science degree from the University of Nebraska: Lincoln. During college, Rief worked as a veterinary assistant at the Nebraska Animal Medical Center in Lincoln, NE, and prior to joining the Oxbow team, he held the position of Applied Research Farm Manager at Choice Genetics USA in Des Moines, IA.
“Having the opportunity to wake up and come to work in a rural setting excites me,” said Rief. “Oxbow has allowed me to utilize my background in both the agricultural and veterinary professions to combine them into one career. My whole life has been focused around the health and care of animals, and Oxbow’s emphasis on premium nutrition and innovative products allows me to continue on that path.”
“Product quality is and has always been our number one focus and goal at Oxbow,” said John Miller, President and Owner of Oxbow Animal Health. “Jaren’s agricultural upbringing and experience, as well as his experience in the animal health field, put him in a unique position to understand both our high product standards and the specific nutritional needs of the animals we serve. We are very excited about the skills and abilities he brings to the Oxbow team.”
